Fox came to us with the task of taking one of their test VR videogame characters and up-resing it to a VFX quality asset. The main purpose was to do some RnD on standardizing IP related 3d assets between various vendors at a consistent level of detail.

Given the low res base model and motion capture data, we then carefully added details and realistic shading. Using real camera movement, and adding imperfections such as chromatic aberration, lens distortion, motion blur, depth of field, lens flares, atmosphere, and dust, we were able to push the realism while maintaining a retro-futuristic sci fi look and feel.
